Gift from the Irish Embassy to St. Patrick's Day

To mark Ireland's national holiday, St Patrick's Day, the Irish Embassy has donated a Brooklyn magnolia variety 'Yellow Bird' to the University of Latvia's Botanic Gardens. This is a special event, because in the garden it will be the first magnolia to bloom with yellow flowers.

Thank to the Embassy of Ireland for the gift, as well as to Madara Lazdāne, head of the tree plant laboratory, who will take care of this plant!

For the time being, the weather does not allow it to be planted outside, so for some time the location of the new magnolia plant will be the Palm House. We look forward to the first flowers and hope that the new plant will feel good with us!
